Disabled woman who was not arrested for 9 months in rape case
Kathmandu. The victim has alleged that she was raped by Nirp Bahadur Shah of Achham and the police did not arrest her even after 9 months. She made this allegation at a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday.
A young woman from Pahalmanpur of Ghodaghodi Municipality-10 in Kailali has accused Nirp Bahadur Shah of repeatedly raping her. She said that she was forced to come to the media as she had lodged a complaint with the 3 Kune police in Kathmandu nine months ago and has not been arrested even after issuing an arrest warrant.
Activist Sobha Pathak has accused the government of not working in favour of the victims. “The government with so much hope and confidence still did not give justice to such victims, why is it not arresting them for 9-9 months,” Pathak questioned. She said that she hopes that the police will arrest Nij Shah by this evening.
