Kathmandu. The government is preparing to make arrangements to exchange any brand of gas cylinder with another brand of cylinder. The government has made such preparations to avoid the shortage of cooking gas during Dashain.

Despite the availability of gas in the market during the festival, consumers are not getting the brand they want. To solve this problem, preparations have been made to implement such a system in coordination with the Nepal Oil Corporation, gas industrialists, sellers, and security agencies.

After the implementation of the proposed system, consumers will be able to exchange gas in cylinders of any brand available from the outlet of their choice. For this, consumers will not have to pay any additional fee for changing the brand.

Earlier, consumers had to pay an additional amount of Rs 400 to Rs 700 when exchanging cylinders of one brand with another brand. If the new system is implemented, consumers will be relieved of this additional financial burden.

In the Kathmandu Valley, preparations are being made to operate joint sales counters at 15 to 20 main places to facilitate the facilities. It is said that arrangements will be made to exchange cylinders of different brands and provide gas through these counters.

However, there has been no official announcement yet that such a system has been implemented. It is said that the final decision on its implementation will be taken after coordination between the concerned agencies.
