296 flood victims of Rasuwa at Mustang Gumba, Lions Club has been providing food
for 33 days. 296 flood victims of Timure of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-2 of Rasuwa are taking shelter at Mustang Monastery in Swayambhu. Lions Club 325E has taken the responsibility of feeding them daily.
According to Binod Kumar Shrestha, Disaster Management Chief of Lions Club 325 E, it has been 33 days since the club started feeding the victims taking shelter in the monastery.
Likewise, 10 to 12 people are employed in cooking.
Shrestha said that they work in the kitchen from morning to evening and spend Rs 25,000 per day. The monastery prepares food four times a day. Breakfast is served from 7 am to 9 am, Haiti from 3 pm to 4 pm and dinner after 6 pm.
Shrestha said that about
Rs 1 lakh is spent daily for the food of the victims. Similarly, 20 to 25 volunteers have been visiting the monastery every day to help in the management.
According to Shrestha, the flood victims who are taking shelter in the monastery want to return to their village Timure.
However, he said that arrangements have been made to feed them for about 6 months until they are rehabilitated.
He also said that he is receiving personal support and support from other district members of the Lions Club.
