Blue Diamond Society: Claiming to have made historic achievements in the field of rights
Kathmandu. Blue Diamond Society, an organization working in the field of gender identity, health, human rights, and the rights of sexual and gender minority communities, has celebrated its 25th anniversary.
The organization celebrated its silver year by organizing a special ceremony in Kathmandu on Thursday. On the occasion, Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security, Sita Badi, said that the government was committed to implement the demands and demands of Nepalis in South Asia.
Stating that the constitution has addressed and respected the community, Minister Badi said that the government has taken effective works in a planned manner. She said that the government is working to recognize same-sex marriage as a policy and collect data. Justice Hari Phuyal said that the community has made a historic achievement legally. He pointed out that the orders of the Supreme Court need to be implemented. Leader Ganesh Sah shared his experience of raising the rights of the community in the parliament for the first time in the first Constituent Assembly. Manisha Dhakal, Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society, shared her experiences in the last 25 years and pointed out that plans for the next 25 years should be made. She narrated the problems faced while running from the Supreme Court to the Parliament for rights. Various organizations and individuals who supported the organization were also honored on the occasion. On the occasion, Lily Thapa of the Human Rights Commission, leader Ganesh Sah, representatives of the Australian and Norwegian embassies, representatives of donor agencies, and activists were honored.
