Kathmandu. Voting is underway on Friday to elect a new working committee under the ongoing 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. The delegates participating in the ongoing voting at Khula Manch and the National Assembly Hall are excited.

Although the voting process will take some time, the delegates have expressed confidence that the management is systematic and capable and inclusive leadership will be elected from this convention. He said that although it took some time to complete the voting process, the internal management was tight and efficient. He said that even though there was some discomfort due to the sun while standing in the queue, the voters would be happy after going out after voting.

Similarly, Shashi Kumar Khaniya, mayor of Khairahani Municipality in Chitwan, said that he felt that he had contributed to the nation while voting. He expressed the belief that this general convention would play an important role in correcting the corruption, irregularities and weaknesses in the party.

He said that the general convention has enthused the youth and made the party more inclusive. He said that after returning to the village, the party will take the message to the settlements and villages on the reform of the party.

Similarly, artist and central member candidate Shiva Hari Nepal said that the voting management was easier on Friday as compared to the previous day. According to him, it has become easier to find the names of the candidates as the ballot papers have been arranged at 23 different places.

He said, “It is getting easier. It has been systematic. It has been arranged in 23 different places below, above, outside, inside, it is easy. Stating that he was also a candidate, he expressed confidence that he would win the election because of his contribution to the party.

Likewise, Bal Kumari Shrestha, a voter from Sindhuli, said that it takes half an hour to select the candidates despite the good election management. She expressed the hope that the general convention would elect competent leadership as inclusive representation from various clusters has been ensured.

“The management is good, it’s quick, but now it’s going to take at least half an hour,” she said. It will take time as it is cluster-wise. She said that the process of electing the leadership by including women, Madhesi and backward communities is inclusive.

The next leadership of the party will be elected through the voting being held under the general convention. The delegates who participated in the voting said that the new leadership will correct the shortcomings within the party and give more priority to the participation and inclusivity of the youth.
