1,755 complaints in a week in Hello Sarkar, problems ranging from online fraud to gas shortage

Kathmandu. The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has received 1,755 complaints through Hello Sarkar in the last one week.

1,174 complaints have been resolved while 119 have been settled, said Hemraj Aryal, joint secretary and spokesperson of the office.

In a weekly press briefing held on Friday, Aryal said that complaints have been received regarding salary and salary of workers, payment of Dashain allowance, shortage of gas, invoice bill and hike in public transport fare, among other issues.

He said, “In the last week, we have received a total of 1,755 complaints from Hello Sarkar. Out of which 119 complaints have been settled and 1,174 complaints have been resolved.” According to Aryal, there have also been complaints about problems in getting salaries and allowances and facilities due to the absence of the Chief Administrative Officer at the local level. Similarly, complaints related to customs evasion, smuggling, under-invoicing and online fraud have also been received.

“Incidents related to online fraud have also been increasing in recent years,” he said.

He also said that there have been complaints of difficulty in getting consular services in Cyprus. He said that the issue has been resolved by coordinating with him.

According to the office, on-

site monitoring is also underway in various district offices of Bagmati Province for addressing and facilitating the complaints received from Hello Sarkar.

The National Vigilance Centre has directed the bodies concerned to take action against 1,167 employees, including 1,132 for not following the time and 35 for not wearing the prescribed uniform. Spokesperson Aryal said that the employees were found not following the code of conduct during the monitoring carried out in 106 offices from September 17 to September 20. He said that the National Vigilance Center has intensified the monitoring of the code of conduct of the employees.

“The concerned body has been directed to take action against 1,167 employees, including 1,132 for not following the time limit and 35 for not wearing the prescribed uniform,” he said.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a 21-day training on technical testing is being conducted for 30 engineers in order to prepare the manpower for technical testing in the current fiscal year. The government has recommended to the President to promulgate three ordinances to amend the laws related to land, disaster and forest. Spokesperson Aryal said that three ordinances have been recommended to the President as per the Cabinet decision on October 7. According to him, the ordinance designed to amend some Nepal acts related to land, 2083, ordinance made to amend some Nepal acts related to disaster, 2083 and ordinance to amend some Nepal acts related to forest, 2083 have been recommended. Although all

three ordinances have been recommended to the President, the press briefing did not disclose the details regarding their provisions and implementation.

Similarly, the government has organised the Cleanliness Week from October 6 to October 12 in the ministries and government bodies in Singha Durbar.

All the ministries and agencies within Singha Durbar have been asked to participate in the cleanliness campaign. Letters have also been sent to the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers and the local level in this regard.

“From October 22 to 28, all the ministries and agencies inside Singha Durbar will have to clean their premises and their tables, inside and outside the office. It is being continued as a campaign,” Aryal said.

He said that they have also been requested to appoint a focal person in every ministry and agency to make the sanitation work regular and effective.

The focal person shall make arrangements for regular monitoring and monitoring of the sanitation work.

Aryal said that the concerned bodies have been requested to send the name and phone number of the focal person to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
