A panoramic view of the famous, mythological and historical Laxmi Sagar located in Matihani Municipality Ward No. 7. There is a legend that soil was dug from this Lakshmi Sagar for the altar (Matkor) of the marriage of Lord Rama and Sita in the Treta Yuga. After the excavation of the soil here, this place became known as a clay mine and later the word Matihani is believed to have been transformed into the name Matihani.
