Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress (NC) is contesting for the post of vice-president and general secretary in the counting of votes for the election of office-bearers.
According to the latest election results, Dr. Chandrakant Bhandari is leading with 1,057 votes. He is trailing Madhu Acharya with 712 votes. Surendra Raj Pandey got 680 votes, Govinda Bhattarai got 609 votes, Dhanraj Gurung got 406 votes, Deepak Giri got 301 votes and Prof. Dr. Chandra Mohan Yadav got 193 votes.
Binod Kumar Chaudhary is leading in the vice-president (inclusive) category with 615 votes.
Jeevan Pariyar got 578 votes, Sita Gurung got 334 votes, Farmullah Mansoor got 285 votes and Ranjit Karna got 183 votes.
Pradip Poudel is leading in the general secretary (open) category with 1,381 votes. Uday Shumsher Rana (786), Amar Singh Pun (695), Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma (526), Gururaj Ghimire (328), Nain Singh Mahar (270), Shankar Tiwari (46) and Dr. Santosh Upadhyay (46) got 28 votes. Santosh Upadhyay got 28 votes. In the general secretary (women) category, Dr. Dila Sangraula (Pant) got 965 votes. Mahalaxmi Upadhyay (Dina) got 952 votes and Rita Khanal got 251 votes. A total of 7,043 votes were cast in the general convention and 2,231 votes have been counted so far. The final results are yet to be announced as the counting of votes is underway.
