Gorkha. Three rural municipalities of Gorkha have been badly damaged due to the flood in the Budhigandaki river. The floods have caused damage to Chumnubri, Dharche and Arughat rural municipalities, said Netra Prasad Sharma, Assistant Chief District Officer and Information Officer of the District Administration Office, Gorkha.
According to Sharma, more than 50 people have been rescued by helicopter from the flood-affected areas. Five people are still missing in the floods. He said that search is underway for those who have gone missing and rescue operations are underway in the affected areas. The floods have damaged the settlements and physical structures of the affected rural municipalities. The details of the damage caused by the incident are being collected, according to the District Administration Office.
