Kathmandu. China has been increasing the use of robots in the construction sector in recent times. Robots are being used in everything from cleaning the glass of tall buildings to tying iron rods on construction sites.
Robots are being used to clean the exterior of buildings in Guangzhou, southern China. Robots are now cleaning the windows of tall buildings that humans used to do by taking risks. Robots do cleaning, inspection, and regular monitoring of the exterior of the building.
According to Huang Jian, co-founder of X-Human, such robots have helped reduce labor costs.
According to him, the orders for robots in the company’s domestic market have increased by 50 percent this year, while orders from abroad are also increasing rapidly.
The use of robots in the construction sector is not limited to building cleaning. Robots are also being used in the construction site, which takes a lot of effort and time to tie iron rods. This has helped in increasing the speed of work and reducing the cost.
According to Li Bing, deputy director of the Smart Construction Research Center under the Engineering Technology Research Institute of the China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau, robots work 30 percent more efficiently than workers. He said that the use of robots will also change the role of construction workers.
According to him, the workers can be developed as industrial workers who operate robots by tying iron rods by hand. This is expected to open new avenues for the improvement of robot technology and the development of skilled manpower.
According to an official of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province, there are more than 10,000 enterprises operating in the province that support the construction robot sector and its supply chain. CCTV Plus
