Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has said that those holding different views should be taken forward with respect in the party. Speaking at a programme organized to felicitate the members of the House of Representatives representing the RPP in Kathmandu on Monday, he said that the anti-dictatorial tendency could arise if the people holding different views in the party were not taken forward with respect.
“Even within the party, those holding different views should be taken forward with respect,” he said. If I don’t do that, I may have a dictatorial tendency tomorrow. It’s a learning curve. That learning will bring a difficult situation tomorrow. Therefore, the RPP should respect those who have different views. “At a time when corruption files are coming in, no questions have been raised against the RPP leaders,” he said.
“Now the files of the corruption cases have come. But so far, no question has been raised about the leadership of RPP. Because we move forward with honesty. Nobody should object to that,” he said. He also said that the people’s dissent was with the candidates rather than with the party, and the UML youths had won the election. Lawmaker Shahi claimed that the RPP has the highest political agenda at present.
“There is no disagreement with the party, there is disagreement with the candidate. If the party had collapsed, how would the youths of UML have won? If we have made any weakness somewhere, let’s introspect and if anyone has a political agenda at this time, it is only with RPP. ’
He also said that the party would support the positive steps taken by the government and would warn if the works were against the interest of the people.
