Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Preparations for the 60th annual general meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) have been completed. All preparations for the general assembly to be held in Kathmandu on May 4 and 6 have been completed.
A total of 137 candidates are in the fray for 73 posts. As per the FNCCI statute, senior vice-president Anjan Shrestha will automatically become the president. The election will be held for the remaining four vice-chairpersons and other posts. The general assembly will be inaugurated at Hotel Royal Tulip in Lalitpur on May 6 and voting will be held at Nepal Academy on May 5.
Hemraj Dhakal and Sur Krishna Baidya are vying for the post of senior vice-president. Chandra Prasad Dhakal is the chairman of the Dhakal group while Anjan Shrestha is supporting the Baidya group.
According to the federation, a total of 2,153 voters will participate in the election, with the highest number of associate voters.
