Kathmandu. Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasain has expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s priority for managing the landless squatters rather than securing the national border. Talking to media persons at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to welcome the former King on his return from Pokhara, Prasain made a targeted remark against Prime Minister Balen Shah.

He said that attention should be paid to the Lipulekh-Kalapani area instead of using bulldozers to remove the squatters. He said, “From tomorrow, India and China will open the road to Mansarovar. Should we send the Nepal Army there? Shouldn’t they bring their land back? Didn’t Balen Shah put up the map of Greater Nepal when he was the mayor? Why is the land not being brought back? Should the Nepal Army be in the squatters or in Lipulekh Kalapani today? Where is Balen? Balen should have been in the squatters, not in the squatters’ settlements, but in Lipulekh and Kalapani. ’

Prasain also criticized the government’s treatment of the landless squatters and said that injustice was done to the poor. “It is sad to see the way the poor are being made to cry,” he said, adding, “It is said that they are not allowed to live on others’ private land, but the place where they go is on the bank of the river.” Home is everyone’s dream. If you don’t have a house, you have to live on government land. ’
