. The Bagmati Province government is to mark the Republic Day 2083 by organizing various programmes for three days. A meeting presided over by Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya took the decision to this effect by organizing a variety of programmes from May 27 to 29.
The meeting also decided to form the province-level Republic Day Main Celebration Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Baniya comprising Speaker of the Province Assembly, all ministers of the province government, leader of the main opposition party, deputy speaker, office-bearers of the Province Policy and Planning Commission, chiefs of security bodies and representatives of the Federation of Nepali Journalists.

Minister Tamang said that the decision was to organize a school-level essay competition on ’18 years of the establishment of republic: implementation and challenge’ on May 2
6 on the occasion of Republic Day, public blood donation, free health camp and tree plantation programme on May 29 and province-level main function on the premises of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on May 29.
It has also been decided to award four outstanding journalists with a cash prize of Rs 50,00
