Kathmandu. The Parsa District Police Office has intensified the search for the absconding Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City Rajesh Man Singh. Police have also mobilized a special team to take Mayor Singh under control.
Chief of the District Police Office, Parsa, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudip Raj Pathak said that a police team has been mobilized to arrest the mayor. On Tuesday, the Parsa District Court issued an arrest warrant against 4 persons, including Mayor Singh.
Police have also started a special investigation into why the police were not informed about the incident when Mayor Singh was appearing before the court and under whose protection he secretly entered the court.
According to a police source, a special team from the District Police Office reached the court after receiving the information late. However, by the time the police team arrived, Mayor Singh had fled from the spot.
The District Police Office, Parsa, has deployed special teams in possible areas to search for absconding Mayor Singh. The administrative and political circles of Birgunj have created ripples after the local government chief, who is absconding in the eyes of the law, started evading the police.
