Kathmandu. An app named ‘Nepali Patro’ has been found publishing calendars illegally. It has been found that the calendar was published in violation of the directives of the government body Panchang Nirmal Bikash Bikash Samiti.
Clause 7 (j) and (n) of the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee Formation Order 2077 BS has a clear provision that the calendar and calendar can be published only after obtaining approval from the committee. However, the Nepali calendar has neither been approved by the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee nor has it kept the challan number.
Executive Director of the Committee Laxman Panthi said the calendar cannot be published without its approval. According to him, this rule also applies to calendars that are published digitally. According to this rule of the committee, other digital calendars have also published the calendar with a link to the approval letter.
Panthi said that anyone publishing the calendar without approval and printing the calendar against the directive will be fined up to one lakh rupees. “We have issued a public notice several times about what should be clearly written while publishing the calendar. Those who do not follow the directive will be fined up to Rs 1 lakh. Panthi, executive director of the committee, said.
However, officials of the Nepali calendar claimed that they were not aware of the matter. When we called the number given on the website of the Nepali calendar, the representative said that they were not aware of such rules.
