Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Balawati Sharma has said that farmers have been forced to leave their villages due to the increasing menace of monkeys, boars and elephants. Speaking in the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Monday, she said that the monkeys have not only destroyed the crops that farmers have grown for food throughout the year but also the monkeys have eaten the grain stored inside the house.
“Farmers across the country are forced to leave their villages due to the menace of monkeys and boars. The farmers not only enter the fields but also eat the crops kept inside the house. ’
“We are afraid to walk alone as monkeys attack us even while walking alone,” she said, urging the government to take immediate steps to control monkeys and elephants. ’
She urged the government to take effective steps to control monkeys, wild boars and elephants immediately.
