Kathmandu. The passport department will be closed for two days. According to the Department, the passport service will be closed for two days as the passport service is being transferred to the new system.
According to the notice issued by the Department on Wednesday, the passport related services will be closed on July 9 and 10, 2026 (accordingly) as the services will be transferred from the existing system to the new system.
Earlier, the Department had issued a public notice on July 2 stating that the service would be disrupted for two days due to the change in the system.
However, although other passport-related services are closed, the passports already prepared at the department will be distributed, according to the department.
The department has said that the service recipients who have received SMS for the collection of passport on mobile can collect their passport by contacting the Department.
