Kathmandu. Ganesh Nepali of Mugu died after setting himself on fire in front of the Passport Department in Tripureshwor on Thursday. Kathmandu Police Spokesperson SP Pawan Bhattarai said that the Nepali died at 11.20 am on Friday while undergoing treatment on the ventilator at Bir Hospital.
“The doctors have informed us that he has passed away. He died at around 11:20 am. ’
Preparations were made to take him to India for treatment last night but it was stopped after doctors advised him not to take him in an unstable condition citing his health worsening.
Doctors at Bir Hospital had said that Nepali’s condition has not improved even though it was the first surgery.
Doctors said the Nepali’s condition was critical as he suffered burns on his face, head, neck and chest.
A 25-year-old Nepali of Soru Rural Municipality-1 died in course of treatment after he tried to set himself on fire by pouring petrol on his body.
He sustained 60 per cent burns on his body and was undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.
