According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, paddy plantation has been completed in 842,068 hectares of the total area of 136
6,562 hectares.
According to the state-wise data, 87.8 per cent paddy plantation has been completed in the Sudurpaschim province. Gandaki Province (
65.9 per cent), Karnali Province (60.2 per cent), Lumbini (59.6 per cent), Madhes (57.9 per cent), Bagmati (57.1 per cent) and Koshi Province (54.9 per cent) have the lowest paddy plantation.
Last year, 72.1
4 per cent paddy plantation was completed in the same period. This year, however, the progress of paddy plantation has been less than last year. However, in Madhesh Province, 57.9 per cent paddy plantation has been completed this year compared to 46.83 per cent last year.
According to the Ministry, the progress of plantation has varied in different provinces depending on the condition of monsoon, distribution of rainfall and local weather conditions.
