Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has shut down more than two lakh websites and apps involved in online betting and illegal financial transactions
.The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has shut down more than two lakh websites and apps for online betting and illegal financial transactions.
The 42nd point of the 100 agenda for governance reforms issued by the government on March 27 had mentioned that the betting app and its website would be shut down within 24 hours.
According to the same decision, such websites operating in Nepal have been closed, but the process of opening them under new names continues.
According to the authority, 223,568 apps and websites have been shut down since the FIFA World Cup was held.
The NRA formed a separate task force after the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers showed special concern over the increase in the use of betting apps during the World Cup.
According to Om Prakash Mahato, an engineer and assistant director of the task force, the URLs running such websites have been blocked by keeping the representatives of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the authority after the start of the World Cup.
Websites identified by various authorized organizations and agencies have been shut down in collaboration with ISPs.
He said that the new sites are being shut down by ‘hunting’ using the ‘Thread Intelligence Tool’ as it is a challenge to open a new website while closing one website and for this, separate manpower has also been arranged.
Also, if anyone comes to know about such illegal websites, then the world. This is the world of the world. The authority has also requested that it can be updated through the IA:0 link.
