. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has said that the Ministry was actively involved in implementing the reform programmes included in the budget of the current fiscal year 2083÷84.
In a discussion held on Thursday in the presence of Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle, Minister Yadav said that the legal and policy reform programmes under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry would be forwarded as per the schedule.
Stating that there are eight reform programmes related to the Industry Ministry in the budget, she said that the implementation process of some programmes has already begun and the remaining programmes would be implemented in a phased manner.
Minister Yadav stressed the need of technical support and mutual coordination with the Ministry of Finance to make the reform plans announced in the budget successful.
Both the ministries would continue to work together to complete the works that fall under the responsibility of the ministry on time, he added.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Dr Wagle urged the government to expedite the policy-level and legal reforms under the Ministry of Industry and said that the Ministry of Finance was ready to provide necessary experts, resources and technical support.
The budget for the current fiscal year includes eight major legal and policy reforms under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, including amendment to the Companies Act, amendment to the Insolvency Act, Debt Recovery Act and formulation of new laws related to intellectual property protection. The Ministry of Finance has also prepared a schedule to regularly monitor the implementation of the budget and review the progress with the ministries concerned.
