Bagmati Town Land Integration Project directed to submit report within 45 days

. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has directed the Bagmati Town Land Pooling Project to submit a report on the completed works, their impact and remaining liabilities within 45 days.

The 33rd meeting of the Project Management Sub-Committee chaired by Acting Chief Sunita Dangol concluded that the locals have been facing problems due to incomplete infrastructure and service delivery. In the meeting, Dangol said that the process of returning the land to the concerned owner should be given priority rather than extending the project deadline repeatedly.

She also directed the officials concerned to include legal, administrative and technical aspects in the report.

Ward No. The people’s representatives and landowners of Wards 6 and 8 complained that the basic infrastructure including drinking water, drainage and roads were still incomplete and the delay in the project has caused problems to the locals.

The project has so far been operating in Ward No. 91.82 percent in Ward No. 6 and Ward No. It has already distributed permanent parts of 95.2 percent developed lands in Province 8. Likewise, construction of drainage, installation of street lights and expansion of drinking water pipes has been completed.

The meeting also approved the budget for the current fiscal year 2083÷84 and decided to expedite the incomplete construction work and move ahead with the process of handing over the project in a systematic manner
