The state should be in favor of the citizens: IGP Karki
Janakpur. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki said the state should be on the side of the citizens.
Inaugurating the Women, Children and Senior Citizens Service Centre and Police Quarters Building constructed by UNOPS on Saturday, IGP Karki said that in a democracy, the state is in favour of the citizens.
He said that democracy is not something that can be done by speaking or making noise, but citizens can be proud of their work, profession and profession.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Karki said that a democracy is considered to be an environment where the workers can be happy even while making a living by working as a labourer and a doctor can feel the same happiness even after examining the patient.
He stressed that it was the responsibility of the general public and the police to create an environment where every profession, religion and caste could be addressed equally at the same place. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Karki directed the police administration to create an environment where miscreants should be feared and gentlemen can move around without fear in the rule of law.
IGP Karki also urged the police not to indulge towards injustice under pressure from one side or acquaintance or anyone else.
He stressed that the general public and the police administration should work together to maintain balance between the society and the nation. The District Police Office, Dhanusha, has installed solar lights along with women, children and senior citizen service centre, police quarters building at a cost of Rs 47
.1 million.
The building inaugurated by IGP Karki has a counseling room, victims’ room and children’s room. The building is expected to help the victims stay for a few days as a transit spot.
Earlier, the District Police Office used to hand over the case to various social organizations and NGOs when a victim had to be kept for a few days.
