Direct distribution of LP gas begins from Teku

. Following the directive from Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has implemented a special provision to ensure the easy supply of LP gas in the market.

Minister Yadav had recently directed the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to prevent artificial shortage in the market, to create an environment for consumers to easily get cooking gas and to make the distribution system more effective and transparent. Issuing a press release on Saturday, the NOC stated that the gas distribution system has been made more systematic. According to the NOC, serious attention has been drawn to the shortage of LP gas after some media reported that although the supply of LP gas was being supplied as per the daily demand. In order to avoid any shortage in the market, all LPG industries have been urged to ensure adequate supply and to distribute the gas in a systematic manner by keeping the name, address and contact number of the buyers in priority to the domestic consumers. Similarly, the NOC has made arrangements to sell cylinders of Nepal Gas, HP Gas, Everest Gas, Sagoon Gas and Shree Ram Gas from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm from the Nepal Oil Corporation’s office in Teku. Consumers have been urged to contact the corporation’s hotline number 01-5971902 within office hours if they do not get the gas supply. The NOC has also requested the government not to purchase LPG only as per the need and not to stock unnecessary LP gas as the import and distribution of LP gas is being regularized. On the occasion, Minister Yadav said that the government was committed to ensuring the easy availability of essential goods keeping the interest of consumers at the centre in the market. The NOC has taken steps to make the gas supply more easy, systematic and transparent by implementing the same directive.
