. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh expressed sorrow over the latest incident in Tarai-Madhes and urged the State to give priority to dialogue and social development rather than force.
Speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, MP Singh paid tribute to the four youths who lost their lives in the latest incident and extended condolences to the bereaved families. He said, “I stand with great sadness today – several incidents took place in Tarai-Madhesh in the last week, which is very sad.
Four youths lost their lives, I would like to pay my heartfelt tribute to them. Om Prakash Mehta died on the spot, Jayaprakash Mehta and Rabindra Mehta died today. And Ganesh Yadavji died in the Siraha incident. I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the family and express my heartfelt condolences to them. He said he was saddened by the death of Om Prakash Mehta, Jai Prakash Mehta, Ravindra Mehta and Ganesh Yadav of Siraha. He said that the need of the country now is to maintain social harmony and fight against poverty, backwardness and inequality.
Lawmaker Singh said that there was no time to create conflict between communities and urged all sides to exercise restraint.
Appreciating the all-party meeting initiated by Rastriya Samajwadi Party President Rabi Lamichhane, he termed such efforts as positive efforts.
Welcoming the Prime Minister’s address to the nation, he said the initiative should be taken earlier. MP Singh questioned the style of use of force by the state during the agitation and incidents in Madhes.
He said that the security forces should use alternative means like baton charge and tear gas to control the demonstrations.
He underscored the need of improvement in security training and crowd control practices in Nepal, underlining the need of building an environment of trust towards security bodies in Madhes. Lawmaker Singh said the government should show promptness in mobilizing security personnel in education, health and development sectors as well.
He accused the government of not paying attention to the mobilization of teachers, doctors and engineers despite the deployment of thousands of security personnel in Madhes.
He said that the tendency to lag behind Madhes and use force only after problems arise should end. He urged the government to be serious about Madhes, saying that Madhes could not tolerate much anymore.
