Bajura. A woman has been found dead in a lake located in Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality of Bajura district. The deceased has been identified as Dharu Devi Kathayat, 62, wife of Mane Kathayat of ward no. 7 of the same municipality.
The deceased had left the house on August 3 without informing anyone. Her body was found at around 2.30 pm on August 2, according to information officer and spokesperson at the District Police Office, Bajura, Naresh Bahadur Shahi.
According to him, a 5-member police team under the command of Assistant Sub Inspector Dharmananda Pant from Police Post Dogdi reached the incident site as soon as the information about the incident was received. A seven-member police team led by Inspector Gagan Singh Bhat from the District Police Office, Bajura has been mobilized to the incident site for further investigation into the incident.
Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
Chhededaha Lake is one of the tourist attractions of Bajura.
There is a large number of tourists visiting here during the rainy season. The lake is located near Khaptad, the major tourist destination of the far-western state and the main road connecting Bajhang and Bajura districts.
