Kathmandu. In the past 24 hours, 2,218 drivers have been found violating traffic rules. This has contributed Rs 6.41 lakh to the state exchequer.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 86 were taken for drunken driving, 170 for ride-sharing, 148 for traffic code violators and 139 for speeding.
Similarly, 94 for flouting lane discipline, 108 for blowing horn in prohibited areas, 138 for parking vehicles on the pavement, 110 for driving one-way traffic and 1,125 for not following other traffic rules were taken.
