Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has launched a ‘suggestion collection portal’ to ensure direct participation of the general public in the policy, programme and budget formulation process for the coming fiscal year. The digital platform has been launched with the objective of making governance more transparent and people-oriented by incorporating the real needs and fundamental expectations of the people in the policies and programs to be made public on Monday.
The portal will enable Nepali citizens, subject experts and policy makers to submit their suggestions regarding budget formulation and development priorities directly to the government through this portal. Press and research expert Deepa Dahal said the move was in line with the Prime Minister’s main plan of respecting the people’s sentiments and expertise and not confining the government’s policy-making process to administrative circles.
On the occasion, Dahal said that the portal would establish a new practice of good governance by bridging the distance between the citizens and the state. The system also includes a special feature to track suggestions so that people can get information about the latest status of their suggestions and the steps taken by the government.
The government has appealed to all Nepalis to actively participate in this important digital initiative and contribute constructively to the mega campaign of building a prosperous Nepal. Citizens can send their suggestions directly to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat through the official website of the Office of the Council of Ministers using this portal.
