Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has walked out of the House of Representatives (HoR) at a time when President Ram Chandra Poudel was presenting the policies and programmes of the government. Speaking in the emergency hour of the House of Representatives, Nepali Congress lawmaker Basana Thapa said that the sight of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli leaving when the President presented the policies and programmes has raised questions on the constitutional culture and parliamentary tradition.

She has also demanded an explanation from the Prime Minister on this matter. “Yesterday, we witnessed a scene that is perhaps rarely seen in the history of democratic parliamentary practice. It is not an ordinary sight for the Prime Minister to walk out of the House when the President is presenting the government’s policies and programs. This is the constitutional culture, the parliamentary tradition and the seriousness of the government. The government should give a clear answer on this issue. Respect the constitutional position. It should be noted that in a democracy, dignity is greater than position. I demand the Prime Minister’s response on this matter. ’
