Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged the general public to immediately inform the concerned financial service providers in case of any change in their mobile number or email address. According to the NRB, the services provided by the banks and financial institutions such as mobile banking, internet banking, and wallets of payment service providers will be linked to the registered mobile number or email of the customer.
According to the NRB, it is necessary to provide updated information in case of a change in mobile number as important details related to the account are linked to such mediums. According to NRB, there is a risk of unauthorized persons accessing sensitive details related to account if the concerned financial service provider is not informed on time in case of loss of mobile phone, theft or change of mobile number.
In case of any change in mobile number or email address, the concerned bank, financial institution or payment service provider should be informed immediately and keep your financial details safe. The NRB has also suggested using only the SIM card registered in one’s name and official application while using financial services through mobile.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has also started providing online complaints related to financial services through its online complaint portal. The NRB has been regularly issuing such public awareness messages with the objective of strengthening financial literacy and customer protection.
