Kathmandu. The Parsa District Court has ordered the release of Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajesh Man Singh on bail of Rs 4.15 lakh. A single bench of Parsa District Court Chief Judge Gayatri Prasad Regmi issued a bail order of Rs 400,000 on the charge of writing and Rs 15,000 in the case of issuing citizenship certificate by submitting false documents.
Mayor Singh, who was arrested from Thori Rural Municipality of Parsa district on Tuesday morning, was produced before the District Attorney’s Office for statement on the same day. After the recording of the statement at the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the hearing was held in Bench No. 1 of the court in the afternoon.
According to Jaya Narayan Yadav, information officer at the Parsa District Court, the chief justice ordered the release of Mayor Singh on bail after hearing the arguments of the lawyers of both the plaintiffs and the defendants.
According to him, the court has ordered the release of Mayor Singh on a bail of Rs 4.15 lakh. The bench has issued an order to release him today itself after depositing the amount in cash or as per the law.
According to Yadav, the court has been informed that the bail amount will be deposited on behalf of Mayor Singh.
