Kathmandu. The National Vigilance Centre has intensified surprise monitoring in government offices. Information Officer at the Centre Sarita Khatiwada said that the Centre has been carrying out surprise monitoring of 10 offices daily. He said that five groups have been formed to monitor attendance, uniform and file trapping during office hours.
According to him, the Centre has carried out monitoring of 1,130 offices since mid-July.
Among them, 6,710 employees were found not following office hours while 1,162 employees were found not wearing the prescribed uniform, Information Officer Khatiwada said.
In this period, some offices have been monitored two or three times.
He said that the inspection has recommended action against the employees.
According to Section 55 of the Civil Service Act, 2049, the concerned office will issue a warning letter to the employees and a record of the same will be kept at the office.
Similarly, there is a provision in the Act to take departmental action against the employees who have been warned twice. The Centre is monitoring one district each in seven provinces. The center is monitoring the offices in the districts where there is a lot of public contact.
