The Division Forest Office has clarified that the forest staff had dropped a tempo from a cliff in the Gaimare Chure forest area under Godavari community forest in ward no. 4 of Godavari municipality. Organising a press conference today, the office claimed that the forest staff deliberately and deliberately did not pull the tempo from the cliff. According to the office, the tempo pushed towards the cliff was not in a condition to move, the wheels and engine were completely broken down and the scrap structure was being used as a hut built by encroaching on the forest area.
Senior Divisional Forest Officer of the Office, Dr Ramvichari Thakur, said that the Gaimare area is very sensitive from the point of view of Chure conservation and regular campaigns are being launched to control the encroachment there.
According to him, the illegal occupation of public forest area and construction of huts and buying and selling of huts has been going on for a long time.
The
office said that illegal structures were reconstructed in the area about five months ago. A month ago, instructions were given to remove these structures. Although some huts have been removed, the tempo used by Ghanashyam Dhami has refused to be removed. According to the office, the forest staff had pushed the tempo to the house of the concerned person earlier as well, but later the shop was brought back to the same place.
On June 12, during the campaign to remove the encroachment, the concerned person had refused to remove the tempo. After shouting, “Do whatever you want, I will not remove it”, the forest office team tried to remove the tempo which was in an unusable condition. According to the office, the tempo accidentally fell off the cliff due to the steep terrain and imbalance.
Employees of the forest office have urged not to exaggerate or misrepresent the incident, stating that forest conservation and encroachment are being controlled as per the law.
