. Two employees of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Dharan Distribution Centre were killed in a road accident at Itahari on Sunday night. One employee was injured in the accident.

NEA) has mobilized employees for patrolling and repairing the Duhabi-Dharan 33 kV transmission line after problems surfaced on Monday night. The accident took place some 200 meters south from Itahari-20, Seuti Bridge.
According to Hariram Pokharel, chief of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Dharan, a team had left for repair work at 9:54 pm.
However, two employees died in the accident before reaching their destination, he said.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Subash Hamal of Area Police Office, Itahari, the accident took place at around 11:40 pm on the way to Itahari from Dharan. The deceased have been identified as Scorpio jeep driver Birkha Bahadur Rai, 33, of Dharan-13 and helper Suman Acharya, 49, of Dharan-16.
The injured were rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment but doctors declared them dead.
Padam Rai, 32, of Dharan-20, who was injured in the accident, is receiving treatment at BPKIHS.
His condition is said to be normal.
The Scorpio of the authority has been completely damaged in
the accident. The cause of the accident is being investigated, police said. It is suspected that the accident may have occurred due to over-speeding while they were rushing for repairs.
