Mandal, 35, of Sisautiya, Godaita Municipality-10 in Sarlahi district, died at 2:00 am on Monday while undergoing treatment at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur.
Vivek had tried to self-immolate by pouring petrol. Bibek was airlifted to Kathmandu on Friday and admitted to Kirtipur-based Burn Hospital.
Vivek is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
