. KATHMANDU: Nepal Teachers’ Federation has expressed serious objection to the release of the song ‘Masterni’ as a publicity material for the Nepali movie ‘Masterni’, which is scheduled to be released from August 20.
Issuing a press release on Friday, the federation said that the song contains indecent words and sentiments aimed at women teachers and has hurt the dignity of teachers and the teaching profession.
The federation has urged the concerned side to immediately stop the controversial song and not to use it in movies. The statement also warned the filmmakers and the artists concerned to take responsibility for the uncomfortable situation that may arise if the song continues.
The press release issued by Nepal Teachers’ Federation President Laxmi Kishor Subedi and General Secretary Tula Bahadur Thapa drew the attention of the concerned sides to maintain the dignity and dignity of the teaching profession.
