. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Finance Minister and relentless fighter of democratic movement, Dr Devendra Raj Pandey.
Issuing a condolence message on Saturday, leader Angdembe said that he was deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Pandey’s death.
“Dr. Pandey’s contributions to the strengthening of democracy, civil liberties, human rights, good governance, transparency and accountable governance in Nepal will always be remembered with respect in history,” he added.
He has said that the leadership role played by Dr Pandey on behalf of the civil society during the people’s movement of 2006÷063 BS and his fearless voice against autocracy are invaluable assets of the democratic movement.
In the message, Dr. Madhav Kumar Shrestha is the Finance Secretary, Finance Minister, Development Thinker and Public Intellectual. Pandey has contributed to take Nepal’s economic policy, public administration, good governance and development discourse to a new height.
Angdembele Dr. “In the passing away of Dr. Pandey, the country has lost a towering intellectual, moral leader and a resolute defender of democratic values.
He was the late Dr. Expressing heartfelt tribute to Devendra Raj Pandey, he wished for eternal peace of the departed soul.
