. Minister for Health and Food Hygiene, Nisha Mehta, discussed the expansion of digital health services, effective implementation of telemedicine and construction of a national digital health system.
Badimalika Municipality Mayor Amar Khadka, Smart Health Global’s Manoj Khadka, Sushil Lekhak and other teams met with Minister Mehta and presented the findings and suggestions received from ‘The Last Mile: Digital Health Conference 2083’. During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the need of developing a national digital health system by prioritizing the experience gained from digital health services at the local level, expansion of telemedicine, integration of health information system, legal and policy reforms, fiscal sustainability and coordination among the three tiers of government. Minister Mehta said that necessary policy and institutional initiatives would be taken after studying the suggestions received from the conference taking digital health as an important medium to expand access to health services for the citizens.
“The government is committed to prioritizing the creation of secure, interoperable, equitable and sustainable digital health systems,” she added.
