. Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has handed over orthopedic implants worth Rs 8 million to National Trauma Centre. A total of 115 types of implant centers have been provided with the objective of providing free treatment to the metropolis dwellers and poor and neglected patients.
Acting Chief Sunita Dangol handed over the equipment, saying that the assistance was provided so that no one would be deprived of medical treatment due to financial constraints.
It is estimated that around 300 patients will get free treatment from the equipment.
Director of the Trauma Center, Dr. Rudra Marasini expressed the belief that the service would be more effective with the support of the metropolis and expressed commitment to use the materials transparently.
According to Dipak Kumar KC, chief of the Health Department of the metropolis, the implants will be provided free of cost to the poor and homeless patients on the recommendation of the Social Security Unit and to the residents of the metropolis on the recommendation of the metropolis
