. KATHMANDU: The National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ) Nepal organized an AI Skills Professional Capacity Building Workshop kicked off in Kathmandu from today.
The two-
day workshop is being held from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on July 22 and 10 at Swastishree Gurukul IB World School, Sanobhariang, Kathmandu. The workshop is also sponsored by Swastishree Gurukul IB World School.
In the workshop, IT expert Ajay Sharma is facilitating as a trainer.
The workshop will provide theoretical and practical training on the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in photojournalism, captioning of news photos as per international standards, production of news videos, quality audio recording, mobile journalism, photo and video editing through AI, fact verification, ethical use of AI and the future of digital journalism.
Participants will gain skills in professional caption writing, video story creation, audio recording, and the safe and responsible use of AI tools through hands-on practice based on real news content. In addition, newsrooms will be trained on the use of AI, productivity enhancements, and ways to maintain editorial standards.
Mr. Pradip Raj Onta, President of NFPJ Nepal, said that the workshop aims to provide AI-friendly skills to photojournalists and enhance their professional skills in keeping with the changing communication technology.
According to him, the workshop is expected to play an important role in developing international journalism practice by promoting the responsible, ethical and effective use of AI in modern photojournalism.
