. KATHMANDU: Joint Coordinator of Communist Party of Nepal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said the communist movement should be reunited with new energy and determination.
In his address to a programme organised to mark the 13th memorial day of Nara Bahadur Karmacharya, one of the founders of Nepal Communist Party, in the capital on Saturday, he said preservation of history was inevitable to pass on the contributional contributions of the founding leaders to the new generation. Expressing sorrow over the incident of vandalism of the statue of Pushpalal at the premises of the Pushpalal Memorial Foundation and burning of rare documents and handwritten materials, the Prime Minister said that the Day should be marked by garlanding the photo of the deceased this year. Stating that the role played by Nar Bahadur Karmacharya in establishing the Communist Party of Nepal in 2006 BS under the leadership of Pushpa Lal Shrestha was historic, Nepal pointed out the need to document the correct history of the founding leaders. Stating that there is a lack of culture to write and preserve history, he said that leaders who have witnessed important political events should leave their experiences in writing.
He said, “If the things in this memory are not noted, they disappear immediately.” When people are gone, events will disappear together. Therefore, leaders who have played an important role in history should write down their experiences. “
Nepal recalled that he had repeatedly urged leaders including Tulasi Giri, Manmohan Adhikari, Tulsi Lal Amatya to document their experiences.
He also talked about the historical importance of Rautahat district and stressed the need of systematically recording the events related to the political, peasant movement and communist movement there. Stating that the communist movement was now in a challenging phase, he stressed the need of unity, self-review and new enthusiasm to revive the movement.”We have suffered a setback today, but we have to get back up from this situation,” he said.
