Stresses on protecting country’s self-respect by taking inspiration from contribution of national luminaries

. Remembering the contribution of national luminaries like Amar Singh Thapa and Bhimsen Thapa, the speakers opined that the country should be inspired from their ideals for the protection of the country’s independence, self-respect and national identity. 

The speakers were speaking at a blood donation program organized by Bagale Thapa Chhetri National Foundation, Nepal on the occasion of the 210th memorial day of national luminary Badakaji Amar Singh Thapa and the 252nd birth anniversary of Mukhtiyar General Bhimsen Thapa.

 

Foundation Chair Dr Ram Thapa Chhetri said the national luminary Bhimsen Thapa has made an incomparable contribution in the history of Nepal and his patriotism, honesty, morality and indomitable courage are exemplary even today. He said, “Bhimsen Thapa, a national luminary born in Gorkha, who has done many important works in the history of Nepal.

But during his lifetime, he displayed patriotism, honesty and moral courage. As a result, we are living in the present Nepal after the Sugauli Treaty. Stating that the sacrifice of our brave ancestors was crucial for the survival of the present Nepal after the Sugauli Treaty, he recalled that the Nepalese brave soldiers had shed their blood for the country’s independence and self-respect in the historical war sites including Nalapani, Sindhuligadhi and Killa-Kakra.

He said, “I want to remember many forts including Killa-Kakda, Nalapani, Sindhuligadhi and many more. Where our brave ancestors shed their blood and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. Similarly, senior doctor Prof Dr Buddhi Bahadur Thapa shared his experience of providing health services in various districts of Gandaki Province and said that Chhetri had played a significant role in the development of the hospital.

He said that he got the opportunity to take the opportunity to develop the hospital as a reputed health institution of Gandaki Province by bringing it under the government’

s ownership and to lead the process of starting MDS study.

He also made active contribution to the management of GP Koirala National Centre for Respiratory Diseases and the development of lung treatment services. He said that he has received the opportunity to receive honors and awards from various organizations on the basis of his contribution to the health sector and social service. According to him, the Bagale of Kaski, Tanahun, Syangja, Parbat, Myagdi and Dhawalagiri areas have been actively participating in the activities of the Thapa community. He also extended an invitation to all to attend the birth anniversary of Maharaja Amar Singh Thapa to be held in Pokhara on August 31. He stressed that all should unite to safeguard Nepal’s self-respect, dignity and national unity by taking inspiration from the sacrifice, dedication and patriotism shown by the national luminaries.
