New Delhi. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post on Saturday.
He said that he has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he has taken this decision to prevent the “anti-national forces” from misusing the situation created by the agitation over the examination irregularities.
In his resignation letter posted on X, Pradhan said, “Anti-national forces should not misuse the situation at Jantar Mantar and other places in the country.
The unity of the country should be intact. The future of every student in India should not be entangled in legal complications.”Keeping all these aspects in mind, I have submitted my resignation to the Honorable Prime Minister. Pradhan’s resignation comes after social activist Sonam Wangchuk staged a 26-day-long hunger strike at Jantar Mantar and protested against irregularities in the examinations.
“I have unwavering faith in India’s democracy and deep respect for the aspirations, dreams and expectations of the younger generation,” he said.
“I am deeply saddened by the events of the last 10 days,” he said, adding, “It is not a matter of my personal prestige.
The youth power of India is the real strength of the country. It is my determination not to allow the youth of the country to fall into the vicious cycle of confusion and confusion. Defending the government’s move in the controversy over the NEET-UG examination, Pradhan said that the central government had handed over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after irregularities were found in the examination held on May 3, 2026.
“From day one, I took responsibility for this situation and never backed down,” she said.
My aim was not to allow injustice to happen in the future of any deserving student. According to Pradhan, with the support of the state government, district administration, students, parents and stakeholders, the re-examination was successfully conducted on June 21 with the participation of more than two crore students.
He also announced that the exams will be conducted entirely through a computer-based testing system from next year. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pradhan said that serving the nation would be the top priority of his life.
Meanwhile, the Indian government is preparing to bring a stringent law to stop question paper leakage across the country.
