Sarlahi. Sarlahi police have arrested a person in possession of 330 kilograms of cannabis. The arrested is Amarjit Raut, 28, of Balara municipality-7, Dumariya.
According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, a joint police team was mobilized from Madhubani police post Madhubani village and Area Police Office, Gadhiya after receiving a tip-off that marijuana was being loaded from a pickup vehicle at Bhola Singh’s poultry farm at Balara Municipality-7, Dumariya at around 1.15 pm on Saturday. A team led by Police Inspector Kailash Chaudhary recovered 330 kilograms of marijuana concealed in 19 packets, police said.
Around 13 quintals of ginger in 26 sacks was also recovered from the same place.
Police have also seized a Yodha pickup with registration number Ba.01-026 Cha 2886 used in the incident.
According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, further investigation into the drug charge is underway by taking the seized marijuana, pickup truck and Amarjeet Raut under control.
