. Bhida, the electric brand of Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp, has officially entered the Nepali market as the first destination for its international expansion.
CG Motors, a subsidiary of Chaudhary Group, has announced that it will be providing electric scooters and off-road motorcycles in the Nepalese market.
According to the company, Vida VX-2 series electric scooters for daily use and Vida DIRT-E K3 electric off-road motorcycles will be marketed in Nepal.
Kaushalya Nandakumar, Head of Emerging Mobility Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, said, “It is a matter of pride for the company to start its international journey from Nepal.
According to him, Nepal has entered the country as it is a strategic market with the growing potential of electric vehicles.
Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of Chaudhary Group, said, “Nepal is moving towards green mobility at a rapid pace and with the arrival of Bhida, it will set new standards in electric two-wheeler market. The company has launched the VX-
2 scooter in two variants, ‘Plus’ and ‘
Go’.
The VX-2 Plus has a total capacity of 4.4 kilowatt-hours with two removable batteries. The company claims that it can travel up to 140 km in real condition. The scooter comes with a maximum speed of 90 km/h and can be charged up to 80% in about 65 minutes via fast charging system.
On the other hand, the VX-2 GO has a 2.2 kilowatt-hour removable battery.
It has a maximum speed of 75 km and a maximum speed of 70 km per hour.
Both scooters can be charged at home via a normal five-ampere power socket.
It also has smart features like operation through a mobile app, navigation, geo-fencing, call and message notifications, and updates of over-the-air software.
Off-Road Bike
Vida Dirt-EK-3 Electric Off-Road Motorcycle is specially targeted at teens and young riders. It can be adjusted to three different sizes according to the height and age of the user.
The bike also has a mobile app that allows parents to control their speed. It has three speed modes. From which the maximum speed can be determined according to the need.
The motorcycle is equipped with a 350 watt motor and a removable battery, which can last up to three hours depending on the operating conditions.
It has also received international awards related to design and technology.
Hero MotoCorp has been selling its petrol-powered two-wheelers in the Nepali market since 2014.
Now, under the Vida brand, the company has expanded its presence in the electric vehicle market in Nepal.
According to the company, the range, speed and charging time of the VX-2 and Dirt-E K3 motorcycles were measured based on the company’s internal testing.
The company has made it clear that there may be some difference due to actual use, road conditions, weather and other factors.
