Sirha. The family of Ganesh Yadav, 15, of Tulsiyahi, Aurahi Rural Municipality-2, who was shot dead during a protest at Golbazaar in Siraha over the Sunsari incident, and the government have reached an eight-point agreement.
As per the agreement reached between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the parents of the deceased on Friday, the government has pledged to immediately expedite the process of declaring Ganesh Yadav a martyr and provide a relief of Rs 10 lakh to the family.
The agreement states that an impartial and effective investigation into the incident that took place at Golbazar area on July 28 and action against the guilty will be initiated immediately as per the prevailing law.
An agreement has also been reached to provide employment opportunity to a deserving family member of the deceased, to implement the suggestions and recommendations of the report of the probe committee formed to study the incident as per the law and to construct a memorial park in the memory of the deceased at an appropriate place of the rural municipality coordinating with the local government. As per the agreement, the last rites of the deceased Ganesh Yadav will be performed at 10 am today. The agreement also states that the government of Nepal will arrange for free education to the mother and sister of the deceased and free treatment to the parents of the deceased at the government hospital. The agreement was signed by Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and Ram Brisha Yadav, father of the deceased.
