Consul General of Vietnam Rajesh Kaji Shrestha honored with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Award’
Kathmandu.Honorary Consul General of Vietnam to Nepal Rajesh Kaji Shrestha has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Award’ by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. The award was conferred by Foreign Minister of Vietnam Hou Binh Trung in recognition of his significant contribution to strengthening trade, tourism and cultural relations between Nepal and Vietnam and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Consul General Shrestha stressed on the need of operating direct flights between Nepal and Vietnam.
According to him, direct air connectivity is very necessary to promote Buddhist tourism keeping Lumbini at the centre as Nepal is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and Vietnam is a country with rich Buddhist heritage. He expressed the belief that the direct flight would expand educational cooperation and business partnership along with religious tourism.
He also pointed out that Nepal and Vietnam have broad cooperation in the fields of information technology, tourism, agriculture, food processing, infrastructure, renewable energy and investment.
He added that both countries can benefit from joint investment and partnership in these areas.
