Sanatan Dharmic Samaj agitation demanding an impartial investigation into the recent incidents,
Kathmandu. The Sanatan Omkar Religious Society with the participation of various religious leaders and organizations has submitted a nine-point demand to the government appealing for religion, justice, social harmony and national unity.
“As Nepal is a country with multi-religious, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic characteristics, it is the common responsibility of all to protect the country’s unique identity, civilization and social harmony,” the statement reads.
The society has stressed that all state bodies should work by respecting the rule of law, impartiality, restraint and fundamental rights of the citizens, saying the concern among the citizens has increased over religion, culture, human rights, social harmony and national unity following the recent incidents in different places of Tarai-Madhes. In a press release issued today, the society has expressed the view that any dispute should not be resolved through violence, vendetta or malice but through truth, justice, dialogue and constitutional process.
It has also demanded an independent, impartial and credible investigation into the allegations of injustice or human rights violation against any citizen and action against the guilty.

The society has appealed to all the followers of Sanatan Dharma and Nepali to maintain patience, restraint and social harmony and to adopt the peaceful and legal path even in the course of disagreement or agitation.
Since religion unites the society, all sides should be responsible and dialogue-oriented for the protection of national independence, social unity, religious harmony and justice.

The main demands of the society
The society has asked the government to form an independent, impartial and time-bound investigation committee into the recent incidents, compensation to the families of the deceased, free treatment to the injured, legal action against the guilty, peaceful assembly and respect for religious freedom, effective administrative mechanism to stop religious conversion, protection of religious heritage, formal dialogue between the government and religious leaders,It has demanded legal and administrative reforms, and a ban on political appointments in religious institutions.
The society has also urged the government to take necessary initiatives through constitutional and democratic process for the establishment of Sanatan Hindu Kingdom and not to obstruct the use of the route during the celebration of traditional religious festivals.
The Samagra Sanatan Omkar Religious Society has announced that it will organize an awareness meeting at Maitighar in Kathmandu on August 3 at 2:00 pm.It has also warned that if the government does not take positive steps to meet their demands, they will organize a ‘precautionary meeting’ at the same place at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 4.
