Heavy rain forecast in hilly parts of these provinces today

. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast heavy rain in one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces today as the influence of monsoon wind continues throughout the country.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the monsoon trough is around the average place in the western part of the country at present and a little north of the average place in the eastern Nepal.

Although the weather is partly cloudy in the Tarai region of the country, it is generally to completely cloudy in most parts of the country. Light to moderate rainfall is taking place at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Lumbini provinces.

The weather will be generally to

completely cloudy throughout the country in the afternoon today. Light to moderate rain is predicted in high hilly region and light to moderate rain is predicted in some places of the hilly region. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

Similarly, the weather will remain cloudy throughout the country tonight with the possibility of moderate rain and snowfall at some places of the mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of the mountainous region of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Likewise, moderate rain is likely to occur at many places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at some places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There are chances of rain in many places of Madhes province, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy to

very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at some places of Tarai region of Madhes and Lumbini provinces. Likewise, the risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion may increase with heavy rainfall, so the riverine areas, settlements at risk of landslides and road users have been urged to adopt special precaution.

The Department has urged the general public to follow the updated weather information regularly as daily life, agriculture, health service, tourism, mountaineering and road and air transport may be affected due to adverse weather.
